Operations and Product Development
Growing up, I spent a lot of time at a family friends’ farm where I rode horses, helped with the cattle, cuddled chooks and played in the garden. This was where my passion and love for agriculture and horticulture stemmed.
Following on from my VCE schooling, I attended The University of Melbourne where I attained an Honours degree in Agriculture at their Dookie Campus. Three years later I gained a Masters in Agricultural Science also from Melbourne University. I have also completed some short courses including Wine Making and Plant Tissue Culture.
Once finished with my Honours Degree, I worked for 5 years at E.E. Muir & Sons based at Laverton North and at their Monbulk store. Here, I gained valuable knowledge about the Horticulture industry in Australia and inputs used in Horticulture crops. I also was able to hone my administration and customer service skills. Currently, I work at Landmark in the Yarra Valley assisting customers with Pasture and Animal Health enquiries.
From my studies, I love to research and trial different agricultural products and concepts in Australian conditions. Currently, I am working on several trials with substrates for container grown berries. A second trial is being conducted with growing blueberries from seed.
My role in the business is Operations, where I look after all the back-end and day-to-day running of the business. I also look after Product Development, trialling new varieties and methods of propagation.
Along with trial and product development, my passions are horse riding, reading, cross stitch and spending time with my family.

Commercial and Agronomy
I have gained experience through a number of different opportunities in the horticultural and agricultural sectors, from working on the family Cherry farm, I have also worked in PR and communications for a specialist agricultural firm called The Primary Agency. Following these positions, I spent nearly ten years as a Vegetable, Fruit and Ornamental Crop Agronomist and Branch Manager with E.E. Muir & Sons in Victoria. During this time, I purchased a run-down organic berry farm, turning it in to a profitable enterprise. In doing this, I gained first-hand, in-field experience that assisted with my agronomy role at E.E. Muir & Sons.
I currently hold the position as Regional Sales Manager – Victoria/Tasmania for De Sangosse Australia, where I am assisting in the development of new bio-stimulants and bio-fertilisers from AgroNutrition in France and bring them in to the South-Eastern Australian market.
In 2017, I completed a Plant Tissue Culture Technician accreditation at Melbourne Polytechnic. Prior to this, I completed training in Agricultural and Horticultural Marketing, Information Technology and Wine Production. I attained a Diploma of Horticulture (Production) from the University of Melbourne in 2007.
My passions in life are Blueberry and Cherry genetics and breeding, AgTech and classic sports cars, with an appreciation for good red wines.

Chief Operating Dog and Site Supervisor
Polly is our Chief Operating Dog (COD) and Site Supervisor. She is responsible for keeping the birds away from the nursery plants and also assists us with repotting, when the time comes.
When she is not busy looking after our nursery, Polly loves to play with her toys and run like crazy. Being a Whippet, she needs to conserve her energy so can often be found snoozing in front of the fire.
Polly has been with the TroZih Nursery since February 2018.
Polly can be contacted on 03 5961 5980 if she isn't outside in the nursery.
